Competition System

• Preliminary Round
  • Two (2) pools (A and B) will be formed, composed of six (6) teams each. The format is single round robin, where every team will play with the five other teams in their pool.
    Quarter-finals
    The first four (4) teams in each preliminary pool will advance to quarter finals, eight teams in total. The format will be as follows:
    
• Quarter-finals
  • (1) A1 VS B4
    (2) *A2/A3 VS *B3/B2
    (3) *A2/A3 VS *B3/B2
    (4) A4 VS B1
    
  • * After the end of the preliminary round, the FIVB will draw the matches A2/A3 vs. B2/B3 and set the match order for the quarter-final matches.
• Semi-finals
  • The four (4) winners of the quarter-finals will then advance semi-finals. The format will be as follows:
    Winner A1/B4 Winner (A2/A3 vs. B2/B3, subject to draw)
    Winner (A2/A3 vs. B2/B3, subject to draw) Winner A4/B1
    
• Finals
  • Two (2) winners of the semi-finals will play the gold medal match to determine the gold and silver medals.
    Two (2) loser of the semi-finals will play the bronze medal match to determine the bronze medal and the fourth place.
